All of us dream. Dreaming occurs during the deepest part of sleep and is known as REM or Rapid Eye Movement. It normally takes up about 25% of our sleeping time during which the muscles become very relaxed but the blood pressure rises.

Dreaming is a way of processing information taken in during the day and dealing with issues and emotions. Often recurring dreams are simply your subconscious dealing with unresolved problems in your day to day life. Once you have dealt with these problems the dreams will stop.

Dreams help our spiritual growth and make us aware of our potential. With the increasing awareness, psychologists are interpreting as to what they have in store to recommend mankind. Sometimes dreams help in curing the psychological and physiological ailments. The psychiatrist uses a person’s dreams in order to study his worries and anxiety.

Try writing down your dreams when you wake up and keep a dream diary. It's important to note them down immediately you wake up as they are soon forgotten during the day as other things take over your mind.

Looking through your diary you may think that your dreams have no meaning and are just nonsense but if you really take the time to study them carefully and think how they relate to your life you will realise that they hold great meaning on the life that you are living or the life that is in store for you. Taking time to understand your dreams can greatly help you with personal development.

One thing that you need to make sure that you always understand is that dreams unfold a little at a time meaning that just because you are not able to understand them at first doesn’t mean that you will not be able to understand them in the end. As you take the time to look at them in depth you will be able to see what they are trying to tell you, which will shed some light on why you had that particular dream.

It is known that you are able to unearth major insights into self discovery if in turn you are actually willing to take the time to dig deep into your very own dreams. There so not many people that are able to benefit from what is known as one of the greatest gifts that we posess.

Our dreams are very personal to each and everyone of us relating to our own realities, fears and ambitions.

A dream interpretation book will give you some idea of the meaning of your dreams and can be quite handy as a quick reference guide. Over time you will develop a greater understanding of your dreams and what your subconscious is telling you. It may help you to resolve problems in your life and also to increase your creativity.
